Drug Treatment Programs

Inpatient Treatment  drug Abuse  -Are designed for those who wish to live at treatment center full time. They may include

  1. Assignment of a treatment team including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, case managers, spiritual care counselors, family counselors, dieticians, and fitness trainers
  2. Creation of a patient-specific treatment plan
  3. Counseling: including psychotherapy, family therapy, and group therapy
  4. Recovery drug addiction support groups such as 12-step groups
  5. Education on addiction and life skills
  6. Aftercare programs

Outpatient or Day Drug Abuse Treatment-The patient spends part of the all time in treatment center but lives at home.

Sample of outpatient program

  1. 8:00 AM – Fitness
  2. 10:00 AM – Group therapy
  3. 1:30 PM – Educational lecture
  4. 2:30 PM – Specialized therapy such as anger management
  5. 4:00 PM – Community meeting
  6. 7:00 PM – 12-step meeting

Specialized Drug Abuse Treatment-

Specialized drug abuse treatment programs may be available for particular types of patients such as those with a medical background, like doctors, or young adults. These drug abuse programs focus on the challenges of that particular group. Additional services provided in specialized drug abuse treatment programs may include:

  1. Communications with licensing boards
  2. Additional structure and supervision for younger patients
  3. Pain management coaching
  4. Additional family involvement
  5. Specialty groups and lectures
